Apple coring is a practical life exercise that aims to teach students about the food they eat, as well as how to prepare a snack. During the month of October, it’s usually a good time to introduce a unit on Johnny Appleseed, which means it’s a great time to taste and try some of the early apple harvest varietals. Exercises like these are a great way to engage students with food exercises, while teaching them concentration and fine motor skills.
