Dry Pouring with Spout

Materials

  • Tray
  • Two identical bowls with an adhesive dot in the middle.
  • Small amount of a small bean (pinto or split pea) or rice, in the left bowl
  • Long handled spoon.

  • Bean or whatever substance are being spooned.

Points of Interest

  • The full bowl of beans and the empty bowl of beans.
  • Holding the spoon with the TFG.
  • Seeing the beans slide off of the spoon.
  • Hearing the soft sound the beans make as they are gently slipped into the bowl.
  • Getting the last bean into the spoon without tipping the bowl.
  • The position of the non-working hand.

Control of Error

  • Finding it impossible to spoon or dropping spoon, due to improper grip.
  • Hearing and seeing beans spill.
  • Hearing the spoon touch the bowls or bowls hit each other, tray or table.
  • Using the SDH to get the beans into the spoon.

  • Sifting corn and cornmeal, then pouring and spooning.

  • Eating soup or anything that requires use of a spoon.
  • Using a slotted spoon to spoon from water.
