In the Montessori environment, as at home, students can and will spill some of the liquid materials on the workspace or floor. In an effort to foster independence, students are shown how to clean up their own spill by using readily available cleaning towels. Learning how to wring out a dishcloth is essential when larger amounts of liquid are cleaned from a surface.
