Hey Everyone,

My name is Collin Gabriel, and I am the administrator of this website, and the natural systems teacher at Nature Song Montessori.  I say natural systems because it’s my job to help our students understand all the amazing things that can be observed in nature, primarily through the lens of Permaculture.  The more we observe, the more we can spot all the relationships at play, and thus a deeper relationship of our own to nature develops.   As I learned about the Montessori curriculum from my wife, this website became a bit of a passion project for me.  I would often tell parents about a student’s accomplishments, but I would see their eyes glaze over, and it seemed to me that they did not fully grasp how amazing the Montessori style of learning could be.  I realized that before my wife mentored me, I had no idea either, and moreover I didn’t really allow myself the time to care.  This site is for the old me, image rich, with videos on the way, podcasts in the future, and membership options as well that can help us all see that when are kids are put in an environment that is intellectually stimulating, while simultaneously fun and kinetic, the possibilities are endless.  I hope to see more of these principles entering into the American educational system in the future, and this is my way of creating the space and conditions for that to happen.  Feel free to connect with me on this site, and I look forward to all the discussions, connections, and inspired learning that will happen.
